eSignature manages the flow of 485s, Verbal Orders, Order Change requests, and Face-to-Face Encounter documents that must be signed. Doctors can receive, sign, and return these documents electronically. The process is secure, easy, economical, and Medicare compliant.

August Systems offers eSign capability through an alliance with DocuSign, a nationally recognized provider of eSignature technology.

How it Works

When you subscribe to eSign service, August Systems sets up an eSignature site for your agency, customized with your logo. The eSignature site can be accessed by authorized employees and doctors.

Your office generates the document in Visit Wizard for automatic routing to the doctor. The routing process can include internal review and signature by a clinician before the document goes to the doctor.

Recipients are notified of pending review documents by a daily e-mail. They simply login to your eSignature site to access all the documents awaiting their signature.

Approval/Rejection

Doctors and clinicians click a button to affix their signature or initials at all the required places. They have the option to add a comment. Doctors and clinicians can also decline to sign a document, adding an explanation for agency follow-up as needed.

Visit Wizard tracks documents each step of the way and alerts you when documents need attention. A PDF of the signed document automatically goes into patient records.

Is it Right for You?

While every Medicare agency has the potential to benefit from eSignature, its success hinges on doctor acceptance. If you receive most of your referrals from a few doctors, they would be good candidates for eSignature. The best candidates are the doctors who want to automate and are pressing you for a Physician Portal. Unlike some Portal capabilities, eSignature pays for itself through cost savings.
