January 2004 – Medicare Startup
Caregivers is a study in how to do everything right.
Its founders, Mary Allen LPN and Becky Miars RN, brought 50 years of home healthcare experience to the venture. Their challenge was, "How to break into the saturated home-care market of greater Cincinnati?"
Becky can recite the answers in an instant:
• Extensive market research
• Advance commitment from referral sources
• Careful recruiting of key personnel
• Presenting the agency in a professional manner
• Community and industry involvement
• Automation of office functions

December 2006– HomeCare Elite
Today, Caregivers offers both Medicare and Private Duty services, through 75 field employees. Thanks to extensive automation, a staff of 5 can manage the office functions. The resulting efficiency contributes to the agency's financial performance.
Caregivers actively seeks outside input. Industry associations, advisory committees, and civic participation contribute objectivity, new ideas, and urgency to the agency's drive for quality. Both Mary and Becky still go on patient visits.
Mary fondly recalls the early days when August Systems support staff guided her through the intricacies of Medicare procedure.
